For Peter Pan on Her 70th Birthday

Written by Sarah Ruhl - Directed by Miriam Monasch

After a moving staged reading in spring 2024, PRIME Productions is thrilled to present the full production of For Peter Pan on Her 70th Birthday by acclaimed playwright Sarah Ruhl. This fantastical dramedy follows five adult siblings navigating the loss of their father, their childhood memories, and their evolving sense of self as they age. With wit, warmth, and a touch of theatrical magic, the play asks what it truly means to “grow up”—and whether we ever really do.

At once tender and thought-provoking, this play touches on politics, family, identity, and the power of imagination. And yes—there’s a dog the audience adored during our reading!

This marks the Twin Cities premiere of Ruhl’s beloved work and reflects PRIME’s commitment to stories that resonate deeply and universally. “After so many women-centered productions, we were ready to bring some men back to the stage,” says co- Artistic Director Alison Edwards. “This show is special—and our audiences felt that from the very beginning.”

This fall, we’re embracing bold stories and heartfelt risks. Join us.
