A rebellious painter from a distinguished Boston family and an ebullient Jewish woman with a huge adoring family form an unlikely bond. This is a reprise of our very first play, which launched PRIME Voices: a Stage Reading Series in 2017.

Set in 1925. Hoping for a quiet weekend in the country the eccentricities of the four members of the Bliss family become heightened during a weekend, when each of them invites a guest over without consulting other members. The farce and comedy then come to the fore, as the family tries to resolve its internal disputes in the midst of their guests. The Bliss family lives up to its name as the “quiet weekend” comes to an exhausting and hilarious finale worthy of Feydeau. HAY FEVER has been described as; ‘A comedy of appalling manners’, ‘A sparkling piece of theatrical nonsense’, ‘A delightfully dysfunctional family comedy’.
