DAF Donations

A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to the PRIME Productions and other qualified charities. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.

You can also create a lasting legacy by naming PRIME Productions the beneficiary of the entire account or a percentage of the fund. With a percentage, you can create a family legacy of giving by naming your loved ones as your successor to continue recommending grants to charitable organizations.

Contact your fund administrator to create recurring gifts to PRIME Productions or to list us as the beneficiary of the account.

IRA Contributions

A Special Opportunity for Those 70½ Years Old and Older

You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $111,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as PRIME Productions without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $111,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at PRIME. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Why Consider This Gift?

  • Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.

  • Beginning in the year you turn 73, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).

  • You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.

  • Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.

For Those 59½ Years Old or Older

If you’re at least 59½ years old, you can take a distribution and then make a gift from your IRA without penalty. If you itemize your deductions, you can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your gift.

Beneficiary Designation

Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using:

  • IRAs and retirement plans

  • Life insurance policies

  • Commercial annuities

  • DAF’s

It only takes three simple steps to make this type of gift. Here's how to name the PRIME Productions as a beneficiary:

  1. Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.

  2. Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.

  3. Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution.

COMING SOON: Gifts of Appreciated Stock

Why donate stock?

Donating appreciated securities is a powerful and tax-efficient way to support PRIME’s mission of celebrating and amplifying stories of mature women through theater. When you give stock that has grown in value, you may avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value of the asset. It’s a smart way to give—and a meaningful way to sustain our work.
